User Research

Interview Process & Finding

We engaged with our target audience to understand their parking challenges and improve the Rutgers DOTS website.

Insights from these interviews revealed common pain points, such as insufficient parking space despite payment, resulting in students parking in unauthorized areas and receiving violation tickets.

They expressed their frustration over the lack of refunds for unused parking spots. These findings underscored the need to address parking availability and explore solutions to help students locate spots more efficiently.

Our goal is to update the website to provide features like easy spot finding, real-time availability updates, and a refund policy. This user-friendly platform aims to streamline parking, reduce violations, and enhance campus experience.
